This course is to help students prepare for MATHCOUNTS and the AMC 8, the premier middle school mathematics contests in the US. The class will cover much of the material needed for success at Chapter MATHCOUNTS and the AMC 8 and for getting started on the State MATHCOUNTS contest.

Week 6: Sequences and Series
Week 7: Counting
Week 8: Probability
Week 9: Geometry
Week 10: Geometry
Week 11: Logic and Imagination

This class is appropriate for students who are interested in MATHCOUNTS and want to show what they can do on this contest.
Students who have not completed a pre-algebra class (or equivalent training through prior preparation for MATHCOUNTS) should start with our Introduction series of classes rather than our MATHCOUNTS class. Please visit our Course Recommendations page to determine which class is best for you.
More experienced students, such as those who are quite confident they will qualify for state MATHCOUNTS, should consider our Advanced MATHCOUNTS/AMC 8 class.
This course does not require a textbook. Many students and top MATHCOUNTS teams use our Introduction series of texts to prepare for MATHCOUNTS, and many use our Art of Problem Solving Volume 1 to prepare for State and Nationals competitions.
