This course is to help students prepare for advanced levels of MATHCOUNTS and the advanced topics from the AMC 8, the premier middle school mathematics contests in the US. The class will cover much of the material needed for success at State and National MATHCOUNTS.

Week 3: Algebra
Week 4: Algebra
Week 5: Word Problems
Week 6: Sequences and Series
Week 7: Counting
Week 8: Probability
Week 9: Geometry
Week 10: Advanced Geometry
Week 11: Logic and Imagination
Week 12: Countdown Round!
This class is appropriate for students with significant MATHCOUNTS or other problem solving experience. Most students taking this class should be at least somewhat confident that they will proceed to State MATHCOUNTS.
Students who have not had exposure to algebra I (or equivalent training through prior preparation for MATHCOUNTS) should start with our Introduction series of classes. Please visit our Course Recommendations page to determine which class is best for you.
Less experienced students may also consider our MATHCOUNTS/AMC 8 Basics course.
This course does not require a textbook. Many students and top MATHCOUNTS teams use our Introduction series of texts to prepare for MATHCOUNTS, and many use our Art of Problem Solving Volume 1 to prepare for State and Nationals competitions.
