Want a Good Job as an Adult? Math/Sci/Engineering in Demand by MCrawford on Jun 17, 2006, 8:21 am
A friend of mine just sent me this article, which is yet another cry from the business community of math, science, and engineering professionals for better education in the U.S. and more emphasis on math, science, and engineering.

Students who already have these goals in mind should rejoice. So long as you keep working toward your goals, you're not going to have a lot of competition from American students and no matter how many foreign workers are hired into the U.S., there will always be need for homegrown workers for a variety of reasons.

On the other hand, our education system needs to get busy raising standards. I agree with the article that the business community needs to lend more support. Even more than money, a cultural appreciation for the talents of math, science, and engineering students will raise the tide of students educated in those disciplines.
