1. In the following grid, the distance separating two consecutive dots (horizontally or vertically) is $1$ cm. Find the length of segment $BE$.

3. In the following figure, $ABCD$ is a parallelogram. $AB = 10$ and $BC = 75$. Furthermore, the distance separating lines $AB$ and $DC$ is $60$. Find the length $PQ$.

9. $ABC$ is an equilateral triangle such thats perimeter is equal to the area of its inscribed circle. Find the possible values for the radius of said circle.

10. In parallelogram $ABCD$, we have that $AE$ is perpendicular to $BC$, $AF$ is perpendicular to $CD$ and $\angle EAF = 45^\circ$. If $AE + AF = 2\sqrt{2}$, find the perimeter of $ABCD$.

13. Point $M$ is on side $BC$ of triangle $ABC$ such that $BM = AC$. $H$ is the foot of the perpendicular descending from $B$ onto $AM$. It is known that $BH = CM$ and $\angle MAC = 30^\circ$. Find the possible values of $\angle ACB$.

18. In $\triangle ABC$, points $D, E$ are taken on sides $BC, AC$, respectively, such that $DE$ is parallel to $AB$. Also $BC = 13$, $AC = 14$, and $AB = 15$. If $\triangle EDC$ and quadrilateral $ABDE$ have the same perimeter, find $BD/DC$.

19. A rectangle is inscribed in $\triangle ABC$ so that its base lies on side $BC$. Furthermore, $BC = 10$ and the height from $A$ to $BC$ measures $8$. Find the maximun value that the area of a rectangle with tese characteristics can reach.

20. In $\triangle ABC$, $M$ and $N$ are the midpoints of sides $BC$ and $AC$, respectively. Consider a point $P$ inside the triangle such that $\angle BAP = \angle ACP = \angle MAC$. Prove that $\angle ANP = \angle AMB$.

22. Diagonals $AC$ and $BD$ of a quadrilateral $ABCD$ intersect at $O$. It is known that diagonal $BD$ is perpendicular to side $AD$, $\angle BAD = \angle BCD = 60^\circ$, $\angle ADC = 135^\circ$. Find the ratio $DO/OB$.

Make every integer between -24 and 81 inclusive with all four of the numbers 1, 2, 7, 8, using only addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and/or concatenation. Parentheses are also allowed. (Basically, using the same rules as AoPS's All Ten puzzle, but a larger range.)

personally i hate mixed numbers. they're rarely used in competition math and just don't make sense unless you want to estimate a value. i hate how in school they make you "simplify" everything into a mixed number or else it's wrong :(

This is my current attempt of solving

Of course, from the 1st line we have y^2 + xy + x^2 = 3y-1 or y^2+y(x-3)+x^2+1 = 0, using the quadratic formula it's possible to calculate y through x and chug it in the 2nd line, but it's going to be a really hard to solve (i'm only comfortable solving 4th degree polynomial at most)

27th ELMO on AoPS: Error Littered Math Olympiad / Elmo Likes Swapping Math Olympiads

The ELMO is an olympiad test similar to both the USAMO and IMO in format. It is written, administered, and graded by returning MOPers for those attending MOP for the first time. However, because there are only finitely many people who can attend MOP each year, for many years the competition has also been posted and run on AoPS, similarly to many of the other mocks that run on this site. Here are links to the previous AoPS ELMO threads.

You can also find the problems and shortlist in the USA contests section of the Contest Collections. The acronym is different every year and was chosen during the first week of MOP.

[list][*]You should sign up in this thread if you intend to do the contest. Signups are neither mandatory nor binding, but we want to have an estimate of how many people take the test.
[*]You may participate in either or both of the two days. Each day will consist of three problems of a similar difficulty to the USAMO. The top scores from each day and overall will be recognized, and all scores will be posted on the ELMO website, where you can also find past results.
[*]The Day 1 and Day 2 problems will be released in the afternoon on Saturday, June 14th and Saturday, June 21st, 2025, respectively.
[*]Submissions will be due on Thursday, June 26th at 11:59 PM EDT. You may submit for both days at once or separately.
[*]We want to encourage early submissions. Early submissions will receive priority in grading.
[*]Each day should be taken in a contiguous 4.5-hour period, similarly to how you would take the USAMO, although you do not need a proctor and you may take the test anytime before the submission deadline.
[*]Submit your day 1 solutions to here and your day 2 solutions to here. Please submit a separate PDF for each problem and include your username (or real name, if you want that to appear instead) and problem number in the filename. You may either scan written solutions using a scanner or phone app (e.g. Dropbox, CamScanner, Genius Scan, iOS Notes app, Adobe Scan), or write your solutions in LaTeX (compiled to PDF). You may write your solutions on paper and then transcribe them to LaTeX immediately afterwards, provided that you do so entirely verbatim. Please only do so if you have hideous handwriting that only you can decipher or do not have anything resembling a scanner available.

National Math Camps: New Math Summer Programs for Ages 11 - 14

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share that National Math Camps is launching two new math summer camps for students ages 11 - 14. Our regular application deadline is March 14th (pi day), and after that we'll be accepting applications on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. We have Camp Sierpinski at Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, North Carolina (research triangle) and Camp Conway at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA (LA area). Both locations offer two 2-week sessions.

Summary of the problem: Asymptote caches the wrong diagram.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Type the following inside asy tags:

draw(unitcircle);
[/code]
2. Preview/post the result
3. Watch as your unit circle becomes a weird triangle diagram
Expected behavior: It should display a unit circle. This is caused by caching, because comments can revert the effects.

I'm not sure where to post this, but does anyone know if there is a forum where you can ask for help on problems? I finished my class and the Message Board is locked, but I still have access to the problems.

I don't think you can post in Alcumus, can you? Can you post in the high school forum or middle school forum for questions like this? Thanks!
