level of problem solving-quant

What level of problem solving does quant-work entail? USAMO qualifier caliber? I thought I was good at math/problem solving until I encountered this website. If you're more of a person who likes to organize things, plan, look at the big picture, and is also very interested in mathematics, what kind of career options would be a good fit?
also do you have to be good at physics to be a quant?

thanks
