If financial matters aren't an issue, you can certainly bring more than that; I don't think anything was stolen last year the entire camp.

There are occasional trips into the city to shops and various other places, so you'll definitely want a supply of spending money. There will most likely be ATMs on campus, though, so if you don't want to have large amounts of cash on hand you don't need to.
