Harmonic Division

As I saw a sticky with poles and polars teory, I thought one with some notions and applications of the 'harmonic division' wouldn't be so useless as I saw that on the forum a lot of people ask what is this stuff all about.

Some definitions and the whole package of equivalent characterizations and some basic problems can be seen at: http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=46146.

I've also attached my recent article which can also be seen at http://reflections.awesomemath.org/2007_4/harmonic_division.pdf.

All friends in the forum must know that Virgil Nicula and Cosmin Pohoatza have written a nice book about Harmonical division with many solved problems. If you know Romanian , you must buy this book. Highly recomended !!! (Editura Gil)

Dear Babis,

Thank you for your nice words. I would like to add the annoucement of the appearance of its English version in 2008, in Spain, at the IMO, a more improved one having in addition a new co-author, Darij Grinberg.

Best regards from Calella.

Mmm! I think , you must wait for the english edition of this book. I was sent it by a mathematics teacher in Romany.I hope , we shall have the new edition in Spain. But if you want the romanian edition , GIL is the editor ( www.gil.ro)

Thank you Babis.

I guess I have to wait for the English edition, as the Romanian edition
"would be Greek to me" (I guess it is OK with you).

Yet the whole affair begins to sound like some contraband smuggling operation:
an English edition translated from Romanian and printed in Spain.
It spanns too many borders to be a success.

Dear friends,

Thank you all for your interest. Unfortunately, the release of the book has been delayed for some different reasons. I shall be back here, in this thread, when I have more information about it.

Best regards,
Sincerely,
Cosmin
