Scoring

I'm doing Mandelbrot next year.
I don't completely understand the Mandelbrot scoring system. Could someone explain to me?

Please correct me if I'm wrong; I'm not completely sure about the details.

For the individual competition, there are five rounds, each with 7 questions.

Within a round, each problem is assigned a point value, depending on difficulty.

1,1,2,2,2,3,3 for a total of 14 points per round possible, and 70 over all 5 rounds. The regional and national levels have the same point system.

A similar system exists for the team competition. Each question is assigned a point value, and a maximum 28 points can be scored on a round. With 3 rounds, there is a maximum score of 84.

What is the maximum difficulty of proof round? Is that covered by Vol.2?
