MathPath 2010
news and discussion of the coming summer

The location for 2010 has been chosen - Macalester College in Saint Paul MN (the twin cities).

MathPathers from 2009 have already been invited to reapply and materials for new applications will appear on the MathPath website in a week or so.

We look forward to your posts here in the coming school year, and we hope to see many of you at camp.

Mr M

This is Eric from MathPath 2009.
I am planning to attend MathPath 2010.
I sent out my application form today (September 28)
What if it reaches Swarthmore College in October?
Do I have to pay \$45 extra?
Thanks.

I have responded to Eric's specific question privately, but for the rest of you, here is the general rule:

It is the date that the registration form and check are received that matters, not the date of the application form. The registration and check should be received by the end of the month n months before May 31 in order to get an n% reduction. We usually give a day or two slack, but to be sure, you should send your check a week before the end of the month. And you cannot send your check before you are admitted! The fee reduction policy is explained in detail on our website.

On another matter, thank you pinkmuskrat for your enthusiasm for the 2010 Qualifying Test. It's posted on the MathPath website now, so check it out.

Hey Eric, I'm going to go too.

Also, does anyone know if the same teachers are going to be there or will some be replaced by new ones?

By the way, anyone who likes Magic the Gathering, D&D, or any other game loved by us nerds, should bring your stuff for it.
