Yeah, I am going. I'm from IL and am going to be a sophomore (yeah, skipped 9th grade) for the 2009 MPFG contest. I got a 129 on the AMC 10A this year ( Sad darn stupid mistakes) but yet I still qualified, yay.

Also, I'm 14 and going to be 15 in November.

Please also introduce yourselves here. Smile

Heh, isn't the cost of Mathematica cheaper than hotel rooms/plane (or gas if you're driving) of going to MPFG (of course, the experience and the possibility of winning 20 grand is worth it)

Oh, and I'm not going due to gender issues.

No, contestants can be in 12th grade or below. Back in May, applicants had to be in 11th grade or below, which would presumably put them in 12th grade or below when the contest takes place in November.

I would love to go, but transportation just makes it unfeasible for me.

I'm going. From California, will be a senior. Hopefully I'll have actually done some contest preparation by November.

Please see the Math Prize web site: http://mathprize.atfoundation.org. Or view the first thread in the Math Prize forum: www.artofproblemsolving.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=263427. If eligible, you can still apply for this year's contest by September 15.

:(

Dang it.

Unfortunately, I just realized I had scheduling conflicts and flight conflicts; therefore, I cannot go. Sad

But good luck to everyone who's going there. (especially the people from my state, or actually, the FOUR people from my school!)

I'm a Junior from NYC, and I'm going, too.

It's a two hour train ride away, for me, so not as bad as for most of you. At least one other person is coming from my school, and she lives just few stations away from the place.

Good luck everybody, and don't forget to eat your breakfast Smile
