I am about to start learning Algebra. What should I keep as a goal in this subject?..like solving complex equations..

I would not say there is anything specific you should learn. Algebra is the foundation for all high school and college math, so your goal should certainly be to learn everything you can. If you are ignorant in algebra, you will find it impossible to pass more difficult math classes (and yes, they will get much more difficult).

Like Stank said, there aren't any specific goals for Algebra. I just completed Algebra I, so well...
an example you can strive for is to reach a certain point. Like to know how to extract a basic quadratic equation.
Or maybe you want to be able to learn the foundation for upper class math.
Whatever you choose well, know there's no right answer.

I can give you a couple I found quite difficult,
Learning to work with rationale denominators
Learn about Simon's Favorite Factoring Trick
and yes,
Working with basic quadratic equations, using the formula
The book all of this is in,
Introduction to Algebra. By Richard Rusczyk
That's what I took for Algebra I.
They sell it on AoPS,
and if you take the class you get a discount... in the book it's split into parts when it comes to quadratic formula.

If you are beginning to learn Algebra, a great course to take is the Algebra 1 Class. Click here for more info You can see what each class will be about, and you can set goals based on that. Smile Good luck!
