A reminder PM will probably come about Monday-Tuesday, and the test will be posted on Thursday. Remember, you will only have five days to do the test.

Will we receive the password with the reminder PM? Also, can the password be something easy to remember like "HAMBURGER" so I won't forget later on?

@basketball, read the rules (the seventh bullet says to PM it to any of the four coordinators, who are ernie, PowerOfPi, pytheagle, or vallon22):
PowerOfPi wrote:
Rules (please read)

  • The competition will consist of 4 levels: School, Chapter, State, and Nationals. Each level will have two rounds: Sprint and Target.

  • Your score for each level will be calculated by adding the number of questions correct on the Sprint Round to twice the number of questions correct on the Target Round. There is no penalty for incorrect answers or guessing.

  • You must qualify to get to each level. All participants who sign up qualify for the School level. The top 20 scores from the School level will qualify for the Chapter level. The top 10 scores from the Chapter level will qualify for the State level. The top 5 scores from the State level will qualify for the National level. Based on National level scores, first, second, and third places will be awarded to the top three scorers. Please note that if you do not qualify, you may still take the test, and though it won't be graded by the coordinators, you may check your answers with the answers posted after the test.

  • If there are any ties in the School, Chapter, or State levels, everyone who receives a qualifying score will qualify. Any ties for the top 3 positions after the National level will be broken through FTW tournaments.

  • You will have 40 minutes for the Sprint test and 6 minutes for each pair of Target questions. This will be based on the honor system. Please, no cheating.

  • The Target and Sprint Rounds will be posted on a Thursday. You will be given until Monday to finish the test. Anything submitted after 11:59:59 PM EST on Monday will be considered late. You will lose 2 points per day late after Monday. Anything submitted 3 or more days late will not be accepted and the participant is disqualified.

  • Submit your answers by PMing any of the contest coordinators: ernie, PowerOfPi, pytheagle, or vallon22. It does not matter if they are in \LaTeX or not, as long as they are legible. Please clearly specify which answer belongs to which question number and round.

  • You are NOT allowed to use calculators of any type on the Sprint Round. You may use a calculator without a QWERTY keyboard on the Target Round. Calculations may also be done on scratch paper. Communication of any type, including internet, are not allowed. You may not talk with any other person during the test.

  • Answers must be in the units specified in the problem. Including the unit in your answer will not affect the correctness of your answer. However, if the incorrect unit is included in the answer, the answer will be considered incorrect.

  • All fractions must be simplified to lowest terms. Fractions not in this form will be considered incorrect.

  • If you have any questions or concerns, please PM one of the coordinators: ernie, PowerOfPi, pytheagle, or vallon22.

@Maybach: A reminder PM will be send out. It will probably contain the password. About the second part, you will find out in the PM.

Wait one minute, are we supposed to turn in tests by November 5th.

I am sorry but that is unreasonable if you are giving us a test for our convenience i recommend you make the deadline 1 week, or the submissions will be only about half the people who signed up.

I dont have much of a reason to not submit it by Nov. 5th besides (i am busy)
So...ya...

Second concern, dafjbomb is going to win (sigh)

@athunder: No, the test will be posted on Thursday November 5th, hopefully in the morning (if not morning, then afternoon). It will be due 11:59:59 PM EST on Monday November 9th. Submissions will still be accepted 3 days after the deadline, and you lose 2 points per day late. (This was all in the rules, bullet 6).

@basketball9: Depending on which style you use (AoPS or ML), it will probably be in the right hand corner of your screen. It will say something about private messages or just messages.

A note to all: Reminder PMs will be sent out ASAP. The test will probably NOT be password-protected, since that was a goal to get signups, which didn't work.

TEST WILL BE POSTED ON THURSDAY. IT WILL BE DUE BY MONDAY.

Final signups (late signups will still be accepted on or before Wednesday, which is tomorrow!) because it is a special number of signups and it is close to 40, which is double the number of qualifiers to the Chapter level.

Reminder PMs will hopefully go out right now. It will probably say something like:
Reminder PM wrote:
This message is being sent to all the participants of the Mock MathCounts Competition (MMC).

Please remember that the School level of the test will be posted on Thursday, November 5 and it will be due on or before Monday, November 9. For information on how to submit your answers, what form your answers should be in, or anything else, PLEASE, PLEASE read the rules:
Rules
