Reminder: this is the (American) AMC forum

Just a reminder that this is the American Mathematics Competitions forum. Items posted in this forum should be questions about, or problems from, the US AMC/AIME/USAMO contests.

In particular, please don't post problems from other contests and/or "general" problems in this forum. Instead use the appropriate high school or regional/national forum.

Thanks! Smile

I guess the IMO should be considered as final stage of the AMC process. Wink

not really, they sort of completely differ in difficulty, with the only exception of amc 8, which is also for middle school kids

That's an opinion. Personally, I don't believe the AMC 12 should be compared at all due to the difference in permissable topics. I also believe that the AMC 10 is easier than National Mathcounts.

Also, I think this has been discussed before. Plus, this isn't the thread to be discussing the topic in, especially since the last reply was months ago.

Not really. They aren't even comparable. Nats is really easy given a longer amount of time - it's completely a speed competition. AMC 10+12 both have harder problems at the end than any MC competition.
