Please hide your solutions!

It is really annoying to open a problem which doesn't fill the browser window and see the solution accidentally below. To hide a solution, use the following code:
Code:

[hide=Solution]
This is trivial. QED.
[/hide]
Obviously, replace the interior of the hide tag with your solution.

From now on, I'll hide all unhidden solutions I come across in the first two or three posts of a topic.

I disagree with you. One asks a question because he or she wants to see a solution or hints. It is extra work to open hidden links.

But other people might want to work on the problem as well.

One click hardly qualifies as a significant amount of "extra work." In any case, as far as the high school forums are concerned there are just as many posters looking for challenging problems as there are posters looking for solutions to their own challenging problems. This is not necessarily the case in the more advanced forums; my personal preference is to hide solutions in the high school forums but not, generally, in the Olympiad or College forums.

Interesting - thanks, t0rajir0u. I was hiding my solutions pretty much on all forums simply because I thought that was the local etiquette. I'll restrict this to high-school from now on. I still feel the need to put some kind of spoiler warning...

I will still hide my solutions in the Olympiad forums if they end up being long (functional equations tend to be this way), so that it's easy to scroll past the post if it's something a viewer's already read.
