Ernie, please post a solution. Mr. Green

I'll give solution:

ninth prime number is 23.
Subtract one and divide by 2 to get:
22/2=11

Bob the panda and Bob II the panda eats total of 3 bamboo sticks in a minute.

therefore it takes 1000 minutes for them to eat the pile of bamboo sticks.

1000 minutes = 16 2/3 hour

answer : 16 2/3 hours

<New Problem>

Mz can paint a house in 4 hours, and Izzy can paint the same house in 5 hours. If they work together, how many hours would it take them to paint the same house?

together i do 1/4 of work in 1 hr, she does 1/5. 1/4+1/5=9/20. so we finish in 20/9=2 2/9 hrs

FantasyLover can read a fantasy book at the rate of 2 pages a minute. Ernie can read the same book at the rate of 3 pages a minute. Isabella can read the same book at the rate of 4 pages a minute. They have a reading race. But to be fair, Isabella gives FantasyLover a 50 page head start and Ernie a 25 page head start. If this race were to end in a tie between all 3 people, how many pages does this book ahve?

Hey, why am I the slow one? *sniffle*

Mz can paint \frac {1}{4} of a house in an hour, and I can paint \frac {1}{5} of a house in an hour, so together we can paint \frac {9}{20} of a house in one hour, or a whole house in \boxed{\frac {20}{9}} hours.

Superllamel can bake a cake in 3 hours. Fantasy can bake a cake in 22 hours. Working together, how many hours will it take them to bake a cake?

lets say there were x pages in the book.

well actually you dont need izzy (cough Mr. Green )

\frac {x - 50}{2} = \frac {x - 25}{3}, 3x - 150 = 2x - 50

answer : 100 pages

EDIT : IZZY'S PROBLEM

lol im a slow baker

super can bake \frac {22}{66} of the cake in 1 hour, and i can bake \frac {3}{66} of the cake in 1 hour. therefore, super and i can bake \frac {25}{66} of the cake in 1 hour.

answer : \frac {66}{25} hours

<New Problem>

In how many ways can you arrange the word 'MUHAHAHA'?

EDIT : OMG POST ANOTHER PROBLEM AFTER YOU SOLVE ONE

AIME15 can do 10 math problems per hour. FantasyLover can do 15 problems per hour. (yes, very hard ;]). THey have a race, doing a set of n problems each

FantasyLover gives AIME15 a 50 problem head start. However, when the contest is over, FantasyLover wins, and was 85 problems ahead of AIME 15. Find n

Hmmph.

I shall post one.

Many of you will recall that AIME15's favorite pastime is playing with his choo-choo train. One bright morning, AIME15 was gleefully playing with his brightly colored choo-choo train in the living room, when he suddenly smashed his head into it, thus destroying the train. After having a 40-year cry, he decided to put it together again. There are 15 cars - 3 are blue, 4 are red, 6 are yellow, and 2 are green. What is the probability that AIME15 guesses the correct order?

(That's what you get, AIME15! Mr. Green )

EDIT: oops, beaten to it

ok theres only one correct solution out of \frac {15!}{6!4!3!2!} = 6306300 so 1/6306300

now my problem:

i can catch AIME15 by 5 problems in an hour.

i went from -50 to 85, so its 135 problems. Therefore we did 27 hours of problem solving.(... Ninja )

so the answer is 27*15=405 problems.

<New Problem>

Mz hates ninjas Ninja , so he beats up 10 ninjas Ninja in an hour(beaten-up ninjas Ninja can't get up).
But Dr. AIME15 loves ninjas Ninja , so he recovers 8 ninjas Ninja in an hour.
20 ninjas Ninja and Dr. AIME15 intruded mz's house at midnight.
If all of 20 ninjas Ninja can't get up, they teleport to 4th dimension.
At what time they teleport to 4th dimension?

20/(10-8)=10 hours of ninja fighting...O_O

so 10am

FantasyLover fails. So much, we installed a FAIL-O-METER just for him. When he fails a problem, the FAIL-O-METER goes up by .1
When it reaches 10, FantasyLover gets obliterated.

Fantasy's problem solving success rate is 95% on average for 100 problems. TO try and slow down the inevitable, FantasyLover only does 500 problems a year. In how many years will he be obliterated?

lol nice prob mz

i fail 25 problems in a year, so FAIL-O-METER goes up 2.5 in a year.

100/2.5=40

answer : 40

<New Problem>

FantasyLover pushed mz into a monster-infested well.
The well is 100 inches long, and mz climbs up 25 inches a day.
However, the monster likes mz( Rotfl ), so she pulls mz by 20 inches when he sleeps.
After how many days would mz come out of that well?

ehhh no comment

ummm...considering im about 68" already, i climb out the first day ;]

i go up 5 in per day, but after the 15th day i go up all the way so i get out after 16 days

new prob

everytime fantasylover does a trig problem right, he gets +14, everytime he gets a counting/probability problem wrong, he gets -21. He does 10 problems. At the end, amazingly, he ends up with a score of 0!

how many problems of each kind were there?

EDIT: lets let some other ppl try these

Oooh! Pick me!

Problem 25 Answer: Fantasy does 4 C & P problems, and 6 trig problems.

Problem 26: I like the letters in the word MEET, but not all the letters in the word TEASE and AFTER. If I only don't like one consonant, and its corresponding number* is odd, then what is that consonant?

* Corresponding Number (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, D = 4, E = 5, ...)

well if you like the letters in MEET, you like the letters M, E, and T

you dont like all teh letters in TEASE or AFTER, so you dont like

A, S, F, or R

the values are

A=1
S=19
F=6
R=18

the only odd consonant is S

new prob

Ernie met his long idol, Ernie from Sesame Street. Unfortunately, the shock was too great and he fainted. Assume bringing back Ernie takes 3 EMTs 2 hours. How many hours would it take 7 EMTs?

3 EMTs = 2 hours, 7 EMTs = \frac{14}{3} hours

answer : \frac{14}{3} hours

<New Problem>

Mz can pick up 61 chocolates from Chocolate Tree in 2 hours.
Also, Ernie can pick up 128 chocolates from Chocolate Tree in an hour.
How many chocolates would they pick up after 7 hours?

I can pick 896 chocolates in 7 hours. Mz can pick 213 (whole) chocolates. Together, we can pick up \boxed{1109 \text{ whole chocolates}}.

29: With two dice, what is the probability that I roll two distinct odd numbers?

FantasyLover played 10 rounds of poker. he started with 10000 dollars. the first hand he won 10% of his original amount, then lost 10%, then won 10%, then lost 10%. This trend continued until he played all 10 hands. How much money did he lose?
