When people respond to a question you ask...

Please respect the fact that they took time out of their day to answer your question by thoroughly reading and attempting to understand their response before deciding whether or not it actually answered your question. Chances are the person who answered your question knows more about the subject than you do, so you would do well to exercise humility and restraint before responding.

I normally wouldn't comment on the state of things on this forum, but I have been seeing too many threads like this recently, and I would greatly appreciate a change for the better (and this applies to every forum, not just this one). Thank you.

General question, if I post proofs for people to edit and comment on, should I post them under several different threads or one thread?

Is it coincidence that the previous line spells something with it's first letters? I think not. Mr. Green

Separate problems should go in separate threads.

If you'd like people to comment on a solution, it's better to find the problem's original thread by going to the Contests section and finding the problem. If you click the problem's number, it will take you to the original thread. You can then post your solution in this thread. This way, discussion on each problem stays centralized in one place.

rating inflation, needless congratulatory posting, posting..

problems but never posting solutions

There is a rating inflation going on here. What it is is that when someone has
an increased number of stars, that user does not have a proportionate amount
of experience of knowledge even working out problems as others users with
the same number of stars.

Example: There are users on here who make needless congratulatory remarks
on the solutions of others, ans it was not even that user's thread who started
it. This is all to artiificially run up their ratings as I see it.

There are others that make post after post for others to do problems, but I
never see them attempt to do part of their problems or other users' problems.
Again, that's fast for running up their ratings.

It should not be about the total number of posts on the board as those are being
abused by many starting out. It should be about the weight of each post, and its
contribution (as difficult as those are to measure).

Also, when one of those users makes a needless congratulatory post,
it leaves the person who did the work of the posting without the glory
of the others of seeing the last entry showing in the scroll as well as
in the listing. It takes away the credit from the user who did the work,
and it is riding the coattails.
