What exactly happened and what time did you show up? There was an office hours at 3 PM Pacific time. Maybe you showed up a little after 4? Then, you would not have been able to get in the office hours since it was over by then.

Re: Open Classroom time for enrolled students

We are expanding our services to students enrolled in our classes by allowing them access to the online classroom at specific times. The times at which the classroom will be open are:

Weekdays

11AM - 1PM ET
5PM - 7PM ET
9PM - 11PM ET

Weekends

11AM - 1PM ET
3PM - 5PM ET
7PM - 11PM ET

There will be 3 different rooms, one each for Intro level, Intermediate level, and Olympiad level. Any student who has enrolled in a course that started in the last six months will be able to access the rooms corresponding to their course level at the times stated above.

A note to students using the rooms: please keep the math conversation at the appropriate level. Also, if possible please do not put large blocks of LaTeX in the classroom.

We recommend students use the message board to coordinate meeting times.

I cant get in. Its not letting me, even though that i have java.

I think you're going by the forum times?

ET is the forum times + 3 hours. So when you posted that message it was 2:38 pm, which meant the room should've been closed.

There aren't designated "forum times" I don't think... Mine are set to PST because I'm in WA.

I think there's a default forum time though, I've seen people have similar time problems before. And plus it makes sense - the person was posting during a time that the classroom wasn't open, yet they thought it was.

I think you're right. Spencer, be sure to correct for time zone differences.

The open classroom is not open at 8:28 Eastern Time. The classroom will also be open during classtimes. There is no class at 8:28 Eastern on Tuesdays, and it was not one of the open times, so that's why you couldn't get it.

The open times are:

Weekdays

11AM - 1PM ET
5PM - 7PM ET
9PM - 11PM ET

Weekends

11AM - 1PM ET
3PM - 5PM ET
7PM - 11PM ET

Typically, students in a given class arrange a meeting time. If you just go at random, it will almost certainly be empty.

Socializing with your classmates in open classroom time is fine.

Hi
I have been an AoPSian for 5-6 weeks now and I wish to know if non-US citizens can take online classes, and if so,then details regarding timings, payment, etc.
And also if there would be any classes on probability or set theory in near future.
Thank u.
