AMC-Level Contest
The registration is open for school year 09-10

Hi guys,

Even for those who competed in the first year's contest, you need to read this page again and register again as well due to some changes.

I want to begin by thanking everyone who have participated in the first year's contest, and it was a great experience for myself as well.

This upcoming year's contest will be administered by myself and two other students, who will be helping me to create large portion of both first and second rounds. So, hopefully, you will see more variety of problems! Smile

Please note that the ultimate purpose of this contest is to provide best simulation of actual AMC and AIME.

Why should you register?
Benefits in registration include:

A) Updates about contest and reminder
B) Occasional documents with interesting problem
C) Automatic sending of problems on the contest

Things to include on registration are answering following questions: (You may simply copy and paste them with your answers)

Following are for student registration (if you're only one interested in the school)

1. Your name
2. Your grade (in school year 2008-2009)
3. Your school name and state
4. Your coach/proctor/parent if there is any
5. Participation of AMC and/or AIME and/or USAMO

Following are for coach registration (student may register first and get coach to register as well)

1. Your name
2. Your school name and state

Benefits of coach registration are that I might be able to create some special documents (sample problems maybe or something of that sort) for coaches to help their kids become interested.

To register, please email me at hdmatholympiad at gmail dot com.

Other Helpful Information
By going to my website (www dot hiddendiscoveries dot com), you can see the previous year's problems, solutions, and results.

Math Club?

I'm starting a math club at my high school that actually meets on a regular basis. Will it be all right if I register later on in the 2009-2010 year? (since I am not sure just how many people will join).

I estimate that about 15 people from my school will take this contest from this math club.

Yup, that's fine. The first round is not going to be till my break after fall semester... Which is around December, so you can wait to register until your school starts.

The problems, once you register, will be emailed to the contestant. So, you can take it anywhere at your pleasure, provided that you oblige to the rules of MAA for AMC/AIME.

Just to let everyone know, Hidden Discoveries now has its official forum. So, although most students will be gathered from AoPS, please make posts relevant to Hidden Discoveries Math Olympiad on its forum. Smile

Hi guys!

The heated AMC discussion is stirring up the Art of Problem Solving Forum again. I am uploading this post to let you all know about the Hidden Discoveries Mathematics Olympiad, a great practice and a real contest that you can compete for AMC-12 level.

At the moment, the only thing that I can ensure is the first round because the problem committee did not have full ability to address the 2nd round yet. The exact date for the first round will be announced later.

This post is the last one I will make in the AMC forum this year, so please register now before you forget it. I also made a new message board (the older one is gone), which has a section for this competition as well. So, thanks all!
