Sorry I don't mean to rush you, ghjk, but when are the problems of the 3rd round going to be posted? It's Tuesday today and we are meant to send our solutions on Friday, right?

.But we can keep this thread alive by posting practice problems for others to solve Very Happy

...that is until he returns

I post two problems which I found interesting but are fairly easy though:

$1)$ Prove that there are no three rational numbers $x,y,z$ such that
$x^2+y^2+z^2+3(x+y+z)+5=0$

$2)$ Find all monotone functions $f: R \to R$ such that $f(x+f(y))=f(x)+y^n$
