RATIO PROLEM "FAIRLY EASY"
There are English, Chinese and Japanese books on a shelf. The number of Japanese books to that of the English books is in the ratio 2:7. The ratio of the number of Chinese books to that of Japanese books is 5:4. Find the ratio of the number of English books to that of Chinese books. If there are 13 chinese books, how many books are here in total.
P.S Respond in detail so I can see how you figured it out

So the ratio for Chinese:Japanese is 5:4. You have 13 chinese books so, 13:x=5:4.
13*4=x*5
52=x*5
52/5=x
There are 52/5 Japanese books? Is this problem wierd or is it just... wierd?
Now, then we have English books.
The number of Japanese books to that of the English books is in the ratio 2:7.
52/5: x=2:7
52/5*7=x*2
364/5=x*2
364/10=x
364/10 English books? Ok this is a wierd problem.
So total we have 52/5+13+364/10
52/5+13+364/10
=104/10+364/10+13
=468/10+13
=234/5+13
=299/5
I dunno if this is right though...
