NO!!! I mean shoul I just open the window of forum and type the "LaTeX code follows: \frac 12 - \frac 1{23} + \int^1_0 f^2(x_1) dx = \cos x + \sin \frac 1x" and I'll get what you've got?

You see, I open the test forum and type
Quote:
the LaTeX code follows: \frac 12 - \frac 1{23} + \int^1_0 f^2(x_1) dx = \cos x + \sin \frac 1x
and the result is those simple words - not a formula!!!!

Because you didn't use the DOLLAR SIGNS. Just enclose your formula by two \$ signs.

You deal with it in the Test Forum, not in this topic.

Latex addition and subtract

Hi there. My goal is to get multilined addition and subtraction in LaTeX if its possible. For example:
, 10.03
+23.43
, 33.46

Is there a command in LaTeX that can create this object for me (all perfectly lined up)? Otherwise, is there any other product that makes this easy?

congruence classes
................

Consider the set G of all 2×2 non-zero matrices of the
form (a b )
(b a + b)

where a, b belong to Z3, the set of congruence classes modulo 3.

(1) Find the number of elements in the set G.

(2) Prove that G is a group under matrix multiplication modulo 3.

(3) Complete the multiplication table for G.

(4) Is the group G isomorphic to the group of symmetries of a square?
(two groups are isomorphic if there exists a bijection
between them that preserves the group operations, in other words,
after an appropriate permutation and relabeling of the elements,
their multiplication tables are identical.

(this is intended for new users of the board:) We have enabled LaTeX with the usual tags dollar and double dollar on the board.

I have attached a document that should be used as a quick tutorial/introduction in \LaTeX. You can test your \LaTeX abilities in the Test Forum Smile

Now here's what you must do if you already master the basics in LaTeX Mr. Green

Each LaTeX text should look like this

Code:
the LaTeX code follows: $\$ \frac 12 - \frac 1{23} + \int^1_0 f^2(x_1) dx = \cos x + \sin \frac 1x$\$
and the output will be

Quote:
the LaTeX code follows: \frac 12 - \frac 1{23} + \int^1_0 f^2(x_1) dx = \cos x + \sin \frac 1x

Be carefull not to use \begin{...} \end{...} commands too much, because they can cause errors.

Any other questions you can post in this forum (not in this topic, this is only for announcements).

I downloaded TeXaide using the link
http://www.dessci.com/en/products/texaide/
typed the above math expression and copied it on to this message box. It pastes as
\frac{1}{2} - \frac{1}{{23}} + \int\limits_0^1 {f^2 (x_1 )dx = Cosx + Sin\frac{1}{x}}

I kept two dollar symbols on both sides. I got this,
\frac {1}{2} - \frac {1}{{23}} + \int\limits_0^1 {f^2 (x_1 )dx = Cosx + Sin\frac {1}{x}}

I think it is good to use TeXaide to save time and using TeXaide one need not remember the syntax also.

thanx

thanks!
I needs document. If you have it then you send to me,please!
