Facebook notes or AOPS blog entries?

Tue Oct 13, 2009 7:37 pm, by ProtestanT

Hm I've noticed the mood when I post a blog entry and a facebook note are very similar. The only difference is the audience. Maybe I should duplicate them so that I make blog entries at the same time as facebook notes?

*If you could vote today, who would It be and WHY?
Write-in: Mike Huckabee
He's the best speaker and most honest candidate, and he has the best stances on issues. He represents hope.

*In the past 8 years, what can you say were the "positive" features of Bush's presidency/What were the negative?
Positive-kinda hard to think of... but if I need to say one then it's obviously the fact that no additional terrorist attacks happened on American soil. This is actually very surprising, and credits could possibly be partly given to Bush.
Negative-National debt (partly his fault--war will increase debt, even though it stimulates economy)

*This question is directed more to the middle class and lower, do you feel this economic depression will lift anytime soon? If so, which candidate do you feel will do a better job?
This economy will lift, and the best candidate to do so would be Mitt Romney. He's a well-known fiscal conservative, which is the best kind of political figure to handle this situation. In addition, if he endorses the fair-tax, the economy could improve significantly

*Do you believe the war in Iraq is worth the money;people, why? [This one is pretty a 'DUH' question.]
No, because it increased debt and inflation more than it stimulated the economy. The only reason for it to be worth it is toppling off a dictator and giving the government to the people, but I'm not sure if the present conditions are much better (civil fighting). But continuing it is worth the people and money. It's better to keep troops there than to let them come home and let Iraq fall into anarchy.

*If you could give President Bush-Obama-McCain, 3 words of advice to make their presidentcy better, what would they be?
Submit to God

*In the past few years have you lost something that you feel should not have been lost? For example, a tv show you were very fond of, then it got canceled for a show quite possibly that is pathetic?
Yes, definitely. I lose in a lot of things, because I'm not perfect. Failure of making Science Olympiad nationals can be considered losing something I shouldn't have lost. Same with not making MOP.

And finally,
- If you were a candidate for president, and got elected. How would you make this country better;worse?
I should not run for President in the first place, because I wouldn't do well with the stress of a presidency. But if I were elected, what I'll do:
1-I'd push to implement the Human Life amendment and the Marriage amendment.
2-I'd increase both public and private funding in NASA, set a goal for the space programs, and increase the morale of the country by achieving the goals in space.
3-I'd take down the IRS/current tax system and replace it with a fair tax.
4-I'd reduce taxes significantly, and reduce welfare, social security, and other government-provided services significantly. (but science/research doesn't need that much reduction because it helps the country, and it doesn't cost as much as all the useless junk) "The government is not the solution to our problems, the government is the problem."
5-Push for energy independence. Build tons of Nuclear power plants. (fission is okay. Waste is not a big problem)
6-I'll push for nuclear fusion research. It's best to get fusion.

Abortions

Thu Oct 09, 2008 6:32 am, by ProtestanT

On average, over 3500 lives are aborted per day in America. This is a trouble that is extremely important in this country.
That means if you count a period of 2 days, on average, it would be more lives lost to abortion than all the lives lost in Iraq over the past 5 years. This issue is, most of the time, more important than foreign policy (most candidates aren't that different on foreign policy compared to their differences on abortion). One can say that there were more lives lost on September 11th due to abortions than to the terrorist attacks.

"At the heart of understanding that, if we are indeed equal, all of us have intrinsic worth, and no one has more than another. I believe the sanctity of a human life is rooted in who we are as a culture and as a civilization. And should we turn our back on this fundamental truth, we have turned our back on the very essence and foundation of who we are as a people." -Mike Huckabee

In addition, the number of abortions in the past 10 years is about equal to the total number of illegal immigrants present today. That means that if those abortions didn't happen, they could've taken the jobs that illegal immigrants could profit from. Although this is pretty twisted logic--abortions actually don't relate to illegal immigrations that much, the numbers just makes us realize how big an issue abortion is--Roe v Wade was 35 years ago. The number of abortions since then add up to over 40 million.

Mike Huckabee: "I would seek always to promote the view that life is precious and should be protected. But I think it has to be won on a battlefield of one heart at a time rather than pieces of legislation at a time."
