awesome online puzzle game

I'm not usually impressed by online/flash puzzle games because most of them are either easy and extremely repetitive, or ridiculously hard/just plain annoying.
This game, however, was quite amazing. It's just the right length and has enough hints so that it is very solvable, but still gave me a lot of satisfying "aha" moments, and the puzzles are all unique and well thought-out. Go try it.

Well, it was definitely better organized than last year, especially with the computer scoring.
The problems were pretty good, and were at a reasonable difficulty, except that there were some well known problems on combo, one question required calculus on the team round, algebra #8 was like "what", NT #8 was easily guessable (everyone on our team who took NT guessed it right except for me).
I think I got 1-7 on algebra and 1-4, 6, 7 on NT correct.
The team round was pretty cool, I was not expecting that format (it was a cross-numbers puzzle)
Our proctor did not tell us that each correct square was also worth half a point, so we had trouble on the question which asked "what is the maximum number of points possible on this round divided by 4?", but he got it straightened out in the end, so that was good.
In the individual finals, I was rushing near the end, and I wrote a_19<4 instead of a_19<8 for #2, after spending almost all of my time writing up #1.
I was surprised that we got 2nd place on the power round, since we didn't turn in anything for 5.6, which was a 7 point problem, and it seemed like many teams should have gotten perfect scores.

Go Lehigh Valley Fire! Mr. Green

One memorable quote:
Proctor (who was azjps!): "If you have any questions about princeton university, let me know."
Team member: "How often do people get frostbite?"

It feels so good to have barely procrastinated at all today and being able to work on the power round for 2 hours.

Also, for those that have a facebook, press "up up down down left right left right b a enter" (the famous contra code) while on any page on facebook, and click somewhere on the page.

So I failed USACO, as expected.
Didn't solve #1 or #3.
Got 2 test cases on #2, the rest timed out. Mr. Green

Also the big bioethics project is due tomorrow, and I'm maybe halfway finished?

We went on a field trip for AP Biology today, to the BodyWorlds exhibit at the Franklin Institute. It was pretty cool.

We don't have school tomorrow because of Election Day.

Also, Gattaca is a really awesome movie, and the ending was especially amazing.

school is kind of annoying

The annotated bibliography with 7 sources, each annotated, for our bioethics project, is due tomorrow. Currently, I have 5 sources and have annotated 3 of them. Sad
We watched Gattaca in enrichment on Friday, though, and that was pretty awesome.
I won't have much time today to work on the bibliography because of piano lessons and ARML practice, so hopefully I'll be able to get to sleep by midnight/1 AM. GAH WHY DO I STILL PROCRASTINATE SO MUCH

Anyways, here's a problem: Does there exist an infinite set of circles in the plane such that any line goes through at least 1 circle, but no line goes through more than 2010 circles?

  • err there most likely were required labs...although my teacher did not mention which labs were/weren't required, ..im guessing all were required.

idk though, since you could just self-study for an AP exam.

By andersonw, on Fri Oct 16, 2009 11:12 am

  • My AP chem teacher has a formal lab write up every week, plus 3 hours of book homework. She also hates my labs, and hates my homework.
