• Clever proof of Heron's Formula discovered by AoPS community member Miles Edwards, and published in American Mathematical Monthly.

• PUMaC was held.
• The AMC 8 was held.
• USAMTS round 2 was held.

September 2007

• Art of Problem Solving publishes Intermediate Counting & Probability by David Patrick.
• The iTest was held. Team North Carolina won, consisting of AoPS team members.
• USAMTS Round 1 was held.

July 2007

• The 2007 IMO contest has concluded. Results are listed on the 2007 IMO web site.

June 2007

May 2007

• National MATHCOUNTS was held at Fort Worth, Texas. Results are listed on the MATHCOUNTS website.

April 2007

• The 2007 USAMO was held for the top 505 scorers on the AMC-AIME competitions.

March 2007

• The 2007 AIME I and 2007 AIME II were held for high scorers on the AMC competitions.
• State MATHCOUNTS events are held across the United States.

February 2007

• Chapter MATHCOUNTS events are held across the United States.
• The American Mathematics Competitions holds both its AMC A and AMC B tests. Top students on these tests qualify for the AIME.
• Art of Problem Solving sponsors an expansion of the USAMO to 500 students in 2007.
• Harvard and MIT hold the annual Harvard-MIT Math Tournament, which is won by the WOOTlings.

January 2007

• Guide to the Asymptote graphics system for LaTeX created by Maria Monks for the AoPSWiki.

2006

December 2006

• The Princeton University Mathematics Competition (PUMaC) occurred, and was won by Team Carolina, which included AoPS members jb05, MysticTerminator, Iversonfan2007, and mysmartmouth.

• The AHSIMC iTest occurred, and was won by Team Quagga, consisting entirely of AoPS members.

September 2006

August 2006

• The Poincaré conjecture was solved by Russian mathematician Grigory Perelman, who then declined the Fields Medal.

July 2006

• The International Mathematical Olympiad took place in Slovenia. Of the six members of the U.S. team, 2 were awarded gold medals, and 4 were awarded silver medals. While team results are unofficial, the Chinese team had the highest scoring students, with the U.S. team finishing fifth. 2006 IMO Homepage

June 2006

• The AMC Problems and Solutions project has begun. This project aims to create good organization for the posting and editing of better and better solutions to the excellent AMC, AIME, and USAMO problems.
• Art of Problem Solving publishes Introduction to Number Theory by Mathew Crawford.
• The AoPSWiki tutorial is under construction.
• The AoPSWiki project has begun!
• A team of high school students from North Carolina is victorious at ARML 2006.
• Chinese mathematicians may have final piece to turning the Poincare conjecture into a theorem. The Poincare conjecture is one of the 7 Millennium Problems for which the Clay Mathematics Institute (CMI) has offered a million dollars each for proofs.
