Some pages are protected on the AoPSWiki, since they serve to introduce new people to the AoPSWiki. Normally, the prima facie to a certain webpage serves whether or not that person will remain on that website. Therefore, in order to prevent frequent vandalism on important pages of the AoPSWiki, they have been locked. An example is the Main Page.
