GACS - Dwight Love Math Tournament

From AoPSWiki

The GACS-Dwight Love Math Tournament is an annual math tournament organized and hosted by the Greater Atlanta Christian School (GACS). It is held in honor of Dr. Dwight Love, who made great contributions to mathematics education and competitions in Georgia and passed away in 2001. The 2006–2007 tournament will occur on March 17, 2007.

Format

There are five divisions of competition: Comprehensive, Algebra II, Geometry, Algebra I, and Pre-Algebra. The individual competition for each level consists of a twenty-five question multiple-choice test with three tiebreaker questions. In addition, each team selects four team members, each of whom attempts five ciphering questions. These ciphering questions will not count toward individual scores, but they are added to the top four written score to determine the team total.

Registration is fifty dollars per team, but discounts are given for early registration and for teams whose sponsors submit questions to be used in the tournament. Teams may consist of up to twenty-five competitors, and ideally consist of at least four students. Further registration details are available at the website.
