The abbreviation BMO is used to refer both to the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, the Belgian Mathematical Olympiad, and the British Mathematical Olympiad. Outside of the United Kingdom, the abbreviation usually refers to the Balkan Olympiad when no further explanation is given.
