A math team is a group of students who study or compete together in mathematics competitions. The members of the team are sometimes referred to as mathletes. Math teams are common throughout middle schools and high schools in North America. A few of the more popular contests in which math teams compete are the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC), MathCounts, and Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS).
